No Masking

Have you ever mixed a song or a beat and you feel like you've lost some sound in the process? Have you felt like it's no space for all the sounds, so you wound up turning that particular sound very low? It all happened to us before, even me. But it's ways to fix it

Frequency is the most talked about thing when it comes to #MixtipMonday, because it's what we hear in EVERYTHING! So, if you need to make a sound fit in to the mix properly shave some frequency. Just because the sound has full range on the frequency spectrum doesn't mean we need all of it. Like a evolving pad for example: It comes full range, but it also have deep bass that we usually don't need, or highs that can take away from percussion. So you can give it a high pass, or low pass filter (even both), to shave off the frequency to make room for other sounds.

Propper panning is also essential. A good trick to finding where a sound can be panned, is using a stereo imager. Close the width of the sound, and pan it throughout the sound stage. You'll see were it fits nicely. Once you find that spot, open the width to where it sounds good.
